The fuel head is different - looks like cast metal on top - with the same molded plastic on the bottom.

That just makes too much sense. I wasn't expecting it.

It's not an air bleed. The injector return line is the one that attaches to the top of the head.

The fuel heater in most fuel manager heads is encased in thermoplastic - Cummins\Fleetguard is internal, immersed in the fuel - should have no problems with that new version, as the system has an electric lift pump

Where is the engine? I only see a big plastic coverplate. First thing I removed from my CRD. I want to see the engine. If I don't want to see the engine... That is what a HOOD is for.

Exactly, take that stupid cover off so you can see the engine.

Its not only, not to see the engine but to cut some noise out of the 2.8 CRD. (VM MOTOR)
If you drive a Grand Cherokee with the 3.0 liter diesel then you know the difference between noisy diesel and quite Diesel. (MERCEDES MOTOR)

I can't tell a difference with it installed or removed. I say in reality its purely for aesthetics.

Call me crazy, but two of the things I love best about my diesel are the sound and the smell.

Take away those, and you might as well drive a gasser.

GMCTD is right-there is an involved lift pump- no hand push pump there.
Looks like the same Mopar fuel filter used. Man I would like the part # on that fuel manager head!

The part number wont do you any good since it is an export part number.

Didn't someone recently post a link to an Australian parts supply house? It would not be too expensive to have it shipped from there.
