Tried to get one today, after a lot of trouble the MANN dealer managed to understand what I wanted.

Then they said it will be around $295

Are they that expensive? Can't I get one online somewhere?

Sounds like your dealer still doesn't understand what you want, you can buy two at that price somewhere else.

What would a synergy tuning box cost whilst we at it?

Thanks everyone, I asked for a shipping price from the US. (you cannot beat $149, that's only 112€)

And for upping your power, have you checked E-bay lately?

There's a thing called KWP2000 USB interface so you can connect your car to a laptop and reflash your BOSCH ECU.

Some of them come with a dvd with tuning software...

Oops, that was quick, my Provent is already on its way to Spain?

All I got was two emails saying my order was confirmed? None state shipping costs?

Hmm, maybe they messed up, they have free shipping on MANN orders over $50...(but that's USA only!)

So they shipped it UPS for free?

EDIT: No they didn't! :? Anyway I still have it cheaper then when bought localy.

Question on my provent. Currently I have one installed and used a couple of pieces of heater hose to make the connections. Over time (~35000 miles) they have degraded and now are seeping some oil. I'd like to replace them, what type of hose are others using, and where did you get it from? I'd like to replace both hoses, from engine to provent and provent to turbo.

Thanks

I have use it before and it lasts about 3 to 4 years before it shrinks in length, so add a little extra if you use it.
Low pressure hydraulic return line hose will last about 10 years if you can get it.

I used that clear braided hose too and when it gets hot, it collapses! Don’t use it.
I went to a hydraulic hose shop where they make hoses for back hoes, trucks, etc. and got ¾ inch suction hose. This hose is heat proof, and has an internal spring (wire) wound inside the hose itself so it will not collapse. You can tie this stuff in a knot and it keeps it’s shape. It was only a couple of bucks per foot.
The best part is that it is made for oil.
Do it right the first time.

Most auto emporiums carry emissions-rated hose in all sizes up to 1", some rated for hot crankase vapors - or, hit yer local boneyard, do a little hood-diving - vans usually have longer emissions hoses than cars'n'trucks, but check'em all - it's fun finding other stuff you didn't know you needed......................
