wondering if anyone tried to clean the intake manifold in crd. i just cleaned my vw jetta tdi intake, it was plugged with black oily carbon deposit. my crd has about ~25k milage. i looked at the engine compartment..its tightly packed, i don't know where the intake manifold is located. is it easy to take it apart and clean?

No it's not easy.
I think the intake/head are one piece - so you have to pull the top of the engine.

The only one who's done that is DieselToyz - when he was swapping a CRD into a Toyota
he did say he cleaned out a lot of gunk.

check out Provent or EHM combined with SEGR or ORM.
