I just got a left hand tail light off ebay. but still need a driver's side rear wheel well moulding and a rear bumper... I'd like to upgrade the rear bumper to something a lot more stout than the 5mph crap that's on there. any suggestions?
Thank you in advance for the help!

Rock Lizzard had a rear bumper but your looking at significantly OVER a grand to get any additional functionality over the stock unit.

Are they nice? Yep. Practical? No way. If you like the aesthetics, then go for it. If you want the function for a realistic price, get a basket and throw your doo doo up top.

The RL rear bumber is more then functional/practical and quality is not cheap(neither is 3/16" steel).

Post subject:  komodo bumper and other CRD love.

Actually, I sent them an email last night asking some questions which basically were, (and since I notice you have one)...
Is it a direct bolt on?
I have the oem hitch and wiring, I notice that some have the 7pin plug in there and some do not, would the one I order have provisions for the 7pin? Since I already have the stock hitch can my komodo bumper not have the second hitch?
Or should I remove the oem and use the new one from the komodo?
I don’t have a lift, and don’t plan on having one, so my stock tires and rims will fit using the stock tire carrier right?

A question I forgot to ask is that if I use the komodo bumper with the supplied (not oem) hitch, will the trailer hitch be too close to the spare while using the stock tire carrier?

Qualities I really like about the komodo are the awesome shackle tabs! I find those especially appealing because I frequently find myself pulling cars out of traffic on my way home from work, the occasional submerged truck/car at the boat ramp, and tree logs at the ranch...

While the tree I backed into was only about 4" in diameter, the crd did leave a tattoo, I was real freaked out that it got into the metal, but it did not, thank goodness. Thanks again so much for the advice towards the purchase of the crd and assistance while owning it. - to everyone!

This is a great online community I'd love to hang out with some locals, I used to have an International Truck and we have a gang of Scout bandits that hang out by the airport here, then, well, I'd have to divide my time.

As for putting all my crap on top of the Jeep, well, I just took a trip to LAX from austin and back, and we got 28.9 MPG (computer) we were seriously overloaded, but we didn't put anything on top. I got a hitch basket, and put three large duffel bags and a full cooler on that thing. That was the best 50 bucks I spent on the jeep! We made it to LA in under 24 hours... it was awesome.

The bumber is a direct bolt on,uses the same bolts that the gas tank skid/rear hitch use.Yes you can get the hole pre-drilled for the 7-pin plug.Yes you can use the OEM hitch with the bumber, though longer mount bolts will need to be used and this applies to the OEM hitch only.Yes the stock rims/tires will still fit on the OEM carrier with no problem. The reciever in the bumber is not rated(though it was said it was better engineered then the OEM hitch) and it will raise the trailer hitch up about 4".Ask JL Rockies he has the RL rear bumber with the OEM hitch combo.
