Best bet would be to use the search function and cruise through all the posts referring to exhaust mods. I went through there the other day and there have been lots of discussions concerning mods to CRD exhaust. Based on what I read, straight piping seems to have produced the best results in performance and economy. I am excited about the gains in MPG since the kitty guts went bye bye last weekend. Early results from the EVIC show 3 MPG gains. I saw 32 MPG the other day at 55 MPH and it read 28 MPG this morning after my 15 mile commute at 70 MPH. Cant wait to straight pipe to see what additional gains I have. Another benefit is the increased coast after letting off the throttle; no more exhaust brake
Just talked to a local muffler shop and said $40.00 should do it for cutting out the muffler and welding in a 35" piece of 2.5 inch tubing. Thought about putting a Cherry Bomb glass pack in there but DarbyWalters indicated MPG loss so he staight-piped as well.
