What is P1010? I can´t find it anywhere. P0299 i turbo lo pressure something. When i accelerate and the turbo is going to charge, it´s just do nothing. I can here a sound like a huge fan starting, like compressed air thru a small hole. Question: Is there a intercooler in a KJ 2,8 CRD? Can the described fault be the intercooler that´s broken? Are the intercooler located before or after the turbo? Is it cooled air that´s being compressed, or is it compressed air that´s being cooled. If the intercooler is broken, can the AC fail? Are the AC cooler the same as the intercooler? I will inspect the jeep tomorrow, when the garage is a little bit warmer. |

To the original question - yes you have an intercooler, no one has reported a problem with the intercooler almost everyone over about 40,000 miles - has had problems with the hoses from turbo to intercooler or intercooler to intake. They typically split - although they can just blow off. The hoses are typically soaked with oil from the CCV system so you need a Provent or EHM to prevent it. but newer factory hoses are better than the originals Samco Si are the best. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=34167 |

Yes, inbetween the engine cooling rad and the A/C condensor jeepetorp wrote: Can the described fault be the intercooler that´s broken? Anything is possible but highly unlikely.jeepetorp wrote: Are the intercooler located before or after the turbo? Is it cooled air that´s being compressed, or is it compressed air that´s being cooled. It's fitted after the turbo, to cool compressed air. When something get's cold it gets more dense= more air in your engine=more power.jeepetorp wrote: If the intercooler is broken, can the AC fail? Hope you find your problem, let us know ![]() |

Yes, it is the hose from intercooler to the air intake that is broken. |

For what it's worth I recommend you replace both hoses with Samco silicon ones and fit a provent as previously mentioned. Cheers |

Yes, it´s working. Price for original parts is 243 dollar, 1700 kr. But I bought a bit exhaust pipe and reused parts from the original hose. Price 10 dollar, 70 kr. Pictures: http://jeepetorp.blogg.se/2009/february/turboslang.html There where some oil inside the hose, why? Is it normal, or does it indicate something else that might be wrong? |

Oil is common, mostly due to the crankcase vent into the intake before the turbo. You can reduce the oil by installing a condensing type filter in the crankcase vent, or simply venting the crankcase to atmosphere if you don't mind the smell. But the turbo bushings are lubricated by a film of oil and you will always have some seepage due to necessary design. When my turbo outlet hose split, even though I had a filter in my CCV, the underside of my hood still got soaked with oil. |

![]() This: ![]() And this: ![]() Maybe some other colour: ![]() But I think I like the black. Those will cost just as much for all the clamps and pieces as the Samco hoses will. The Samco hoses are Silicon with a Fluro liner. I highly recommend them. |

Nice job on that repair. How do you keep the hose from popping off of the pipe when under pressure? |

HugeKJ05 was intending to make a stainless intake setup but he hasn't posted a finished setup yet this was the thread he was talking about it and an example on another engine. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=395259#395259 ![]() |

![]() Sir Sam, Please do a (short) test for me. Pop the hood and brake torque (with a warm engine) and watch how much the hose baloons. My Samco hose seemed to rise about half an inch. I was worried about it scuffing with all that motion, so I put a stainless hose wrap on mine. The lower hose doesn't seem to move around as much (and the stainless wraps are exponentially more expensive with larger diameters) so I didn't do that one. |

I remember these moving similarly, mine have been on for over a year(longest of any installed) and have been rubbing(mine were the preproduction version before the clearances were adjusted) in one place without issue. Combined with your wrap it should be just fine. |

![]() Sorry to go off topic but what does the white marked switch looking thing on the intercooler just near the front of the Samco hose and touching a black hose do? Had me stumped for months. |
