How does the ORM affect the EVIC? Don't see the relationship. BTW, how do you like the straightpipe, 007husky? I am days away from doing mine and would appreciate any feedback, positive or negative, on noise level and performance. Sorry for the semihijack, Pismo61 ![]() |

For the past few months, i ve been testing mpg with n without the orm and looking at the evic and real mpg difference. as soon as i started using the ORM, the evic went for 2 mpg difference with real world to 4 or 5 mpg difference. The good news, I did got a 3 mpg increase in RL mpg with the orm... RL mpg = miles/galons on the pump. I like the straight pipe. is not THAT loud, doesn`t bother me at all. And there is nothing in there to stop the flow. Welded the pipe myself (im a newb with the welder). |

Of course since the odometer and speedometer are not accurate how could the console possible be correct. And if you are using the odometer reading and hand calculating you won't be accurate that way either. ![]() |

Learn to spell and compose a sentence before you question the intelligence of others. ![]() Many here have found their odometer or speedometer to be inaccurate. |

To answer your question, many have reported that their EVIC (overhead display) is inaccurate in its reporting of MPG. I don't remember anyone ever posting a fix for it. Try searching for the term EVIC, you might get lucky. |

#1 Many people have found the odometer and speedometer to be a few % inaccurate by comparing them to a GPS or mileposts. HAVE YOU? Until you have, don't dismiss someone who suggests they are inaccurate. #2 The EVIC doesn't keep a running mpg since the last time you reset it up to an infinite number of miles. It only has a limited amount of memory in the device. I estimate it only averages the last 75-100 miles of driving. If your driving conditions vary, your hand calculated average for a 400 mile tank will of course be diffferent from the EVIC. |

well sorry in advance for my poor spelling or grammar, but.... the overhead display on my 05 has so far, been pretty accurate. It is bone stock and i have only put about 6k on it , but when checking rl against the overhead there hasn't been more then a 2 mpg discrepancy (sometimes a little high, sometimes a little low). When just doing highway miles, it is almost spot on. Go figure.... |

Pismo, I wasn't kidding. Most here have found that the speedometer reads about 5% fast the odometer reads around 8%-10% slow with stock tires. If yours are both spot on you have the anomally not the norm, however if it is off and you hand calculate you will be dividing a lower mileage than you actually drove resulting in a hand calculation that could show your mileage as much as 10% lower than actual. My odometer was about 9.2% slow calculating by interstate mileposts and later by GPS. My speedometer is almost exactly 5% off calculated by GPS and radar. |

I am with Cowcatcher. My odometer is off 8%. If you are "hand calculating" your mileage based off the odometer, chances are you are getting mileage that is lower that it is in reality. If I hand calculate using a GPS for mileage, my overhead is actually pretty close (off by 1-2 mpg). |

My odometer is off by 10% and I have larger tires. I'm guessing the spedometer is about 10% off too. |

Post subject: | Speedo and odometer error on mine |
My speedometer reads 5% fast and my odometer reads 10% low. I have checked, double checked, and verified by, GPS, Maps, and driving a known distance checked previously with a certified odometer. |
