Engineers and Technicians used to be the ones with weak writing skills, then the word processor was created. Technical people like Engineers and Technicians understand technology and know how to run a word processor. Journalism people are the artsy type that abhor technology, now you know why even the New York times can't catch spelling errors, they lack the technical skills.
