| Post subject: | New motor mounts at 34K miles |
I took my Liberty into the dealership for some warranty work on my drivers side window. I also told the service manager that I have been noticing a slight knocking noise when I go into reverse and when slowing down to make a right hand turn. After some investigation the mechanics found that one of my motor mounts needed replacing. The shop ordered and installed two new units, noise gone... Anyone else had their motor mounts replaced? My liberty has 34k miles on it... |

No but mine made the same noise other guys on this site found out that the right side motor mount was loose and just needed to be tightened. Took mine to the dealer told them to tighten the right motor mount the mechanic turned the nut about 3-4 turns and wala problem solved. No problem since. |

Yes this has happened to several of us. The dealer may have incorrectly diagnosed the motor mounts as bad, when really they just need to be tightened. |

The dealer did not 'improperly' diagnose the engine mounts as needing replacement. That was their diagnosis and they are sticking with it. Oh, but Chrysler probably paid the bill and they made a few bucks. But really, it needed replacement to make the customer happy! I took my Durango in for a $2 exhaust isolator and ended up with a new catalytic converter once... |
