Today is a very sad day for me but a new adventure for geordi. The CRD has officially been shipped. At least the engine will be kept in the LOST family. The best of luck to geordi. 8)

Well, the offer for the other engine still stands. It just needs a small oil leak fixed.

There will be LOTS of pictures taken as this progresses. I plan to completely strip the other motor for parts, so if anyone is looking for anything, let me know. At least one of those pistons has my name on it for a paperweight however. I think I've earned it, ya know?

Geordi, according to oldnavy, those injectors alone are worth a lot of money.

Injectors do around $400 each (at a BOSCH service centre) new over here...If you go JEEP they'll sell them for double that money!!!

Yea, it will be inside it's new residence by then. (I hope)

It's scheduled to arrive on Thursday, and I plan to be there waiting for the truck with camera in hand. This is the nervous time, since I have no direct control of how it's traveling. I'll be a lot happier once I know it is safe and ready to install.

Talking about these injectors, does anyone need any? I'm certainly not adverse to putting the non-damaged parts (and there will be lots, I'm sure) up for grabs now, especially if it helps me get the cash together to install this and a suncoast. It looks like my plans for the suncoast have fallen through - no money. :( I really didn't want to have to take the Jeep apart again, but being unemployed AND a grad student, this little adventure is really killing me financially. I'm having to borrow everything from my grandmother, which isn't a good situation.

So please: If you are interested in something, PM me and lets talk. The only part that i know I don't want to part with (right this second) is the ECM, b/c I am going to do the InMotion and am trying to avoid any MORE downtime. The ECU WILL BE FOR SALE eventually however.

But pretty much everything else is fair game. PLEASE HELP by buying these parts! I will be happy to take pictures of anything that you are interested in, and I won't accept any money until I know for certain that I don't need it to put onto the new motor. (I should know what needs to be transferred Thursday once I see the new engine) I think I will be retaining my accessories, the new engine didn't look like it had them in the pictures. But other stuff... PM if you want it! Intake! Exhaust! Everything in between, including 2 other pistons! (keeping one for my desk)

Nope, I traded my 2005 CRD for a 2007 gasser back in early 2007. I bought this particular engine with all the wiring and computers with the hopes of swapping it into a 4 door JK Wrangler. However, due to fit and function, I decided to go with the European 2.8L VM that already comes factory in the Wrangler.

My understanding is that it has already been neutered, but that is part of the reason that I bought it with the engine - I want to know for sure. I'm going to be connecting it up to the car and questioning it with my AutoEnginuity scanner to see what kind of interesting things it has to say about itself... But I'm not expecting miracles.

It certainly would be a nice thing to NOT have to send it to InMotion though to un-neuter the computer. Too bad the TCM isn't as lucky.

Geordi

I think ECM's have vehicle specific information in them that needs to match your jeep's other computers. I'm not sure what happens if things don't match though :?: I've not contacted them but some one mentioned a while back that you can have inmotion send you a "box" that will upload your ecm's information. Then you hook it to your PC and email them the uploaded information. They modifiy the it with the tune you want and email it back to you. Then using the magic box you load the new file into your ecm. When finished you send the box back to them. This has two advantages, no down time and you never have to remove the ecm from the vehicle. They also offer a "cloaning" service where they match a second "spare" ecm to your vehicle. That allows a person with say a extended warranty to have a stock ecm for dealer visits and a second for "off roading"
Again this is all based on what I've read here
Another solution talked about is Karma's, of tdi fame, box that you buy and it can contain several tunes and you load the one that's apporiate  I don't know if this solution has been finalized and is marketed.
