It's ABOUT FRIGGING TIME!!!!!!

Now the question is... If other countries get to apply tariffs to US products, WHY can't the USA apply tariffs to imported goods so the USA-made goods are more acceptable?

I'll say this much: I have NEVER bought a product that was MADE IN THE USA that did not EXCEED it's intended durability. I'm hard on my tools, I ask a lot of my gear b/c I do a lot of different work. I buy stuff that is specifically "Heavy Duty" whenever possible, for that very reason. Home-grade isn't anywhere near good enough for me, I'll see the tool fail in the first job. Perfect example is the RotoZip. Good idea, I had three of them fail on me before I got a Dewalt version that is still cranking hard.

The cost difference should NOT be allowed to continue, it is flooding our market with cheap CRAP in every area, and stealing jobs that AMERICANS ARE BETTER AT.

Yea, well if we didn't have all those danged Canucks hopping the border to steal our jobs and better beer...

 Oh wait - They have plenty of jobs and a better economy up there, and THEY have the good beer!

You know what I mean Sam. The job-stealing isn't coming from 1st-world countries, its coming from countries where they don't follow worker safety or environmental requirements. Add to that, our "American" companies STEALING the taxpayer's incentives here, then selling the biofuels that were SUPPOSED to go to the USA citizens to Europe at higher prices... AND if I remember correctly, they were getting tax incentives on the Euro side too.

Yea, they weren't pillaging our country. Not in the least.

My only comment is that it's sad we had to wait for the European Union to do something about the situation, instead of our own government - especially since it was our own haphazard policies regarding biodiesel that caused this.

Last I knew, the US was still sending boat loads of #2 ULSD to Europe because we can make it cheaper than they can………………. #2 Diesel in the US is coming down in price because the European supply is back to normal.
