There are a lot of family dairy farms here in Upstate NY and this tax would close all them down for sure. The only thing we'll have left up here is maple syrup production. |

They should tax the politicians $100 a word every time they open their mouth. It is their hot air that is the cause Global Warming. Especially our fearless leader. oh by the way the mean temperature of the planet is going down not up. Did cave men cause the ice age? |

I'm not too concerned about this. While I'll consider politicians in general morons, I do give them enough credit not to try to pass a tax like this. The EPA can only enforce laws or impose fines if the underlying legislation has been passed. Otherwise, they're only able to make recommendations. So, some website publishes some blogger hoopla on something that actually was originally discussed 4 months ago which then leads to an effort to stir up paranoia and pretend, "oh my gosh, this is something totally new." Gotta love the internet. http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/i ... ax_on.html The EPA is soliciting input. Write them a letter and give them a recommendation on how best to maintain or improve the environment we currently enjoy. Kicking the hornets nest here and having a debate within the L.O.S.T. community isn't going to solve anything...because those or make the laws or regulations probably aren't going to be reading this site trolling for good ideas as much as that might serve them well. |

Putting together teams of people to even consider or entertain stupid ideas that have resulted in proposals like tax on livestock, is an irresponsible, insane waste of our tax money, to say the least. Having the abundance of time on their hands to let garbage like a tax on live stock even to come to light is an indication that the EPA is overstaffed and wasting our tax dollars. If Government Employees (such as EPA) want to discuss insane ideas like proposing taxes on farm livestock, let them have their own forums and do it off duty and on their own time and not on our dime. |

I have always been taxed on my cows and chickens and such. No news to me. Every years, the county comes around wanting to upgrade my farm rate of tax. |

I warn the Waste Water Plant Operators to hide the Bucket used in the Bucket Test when the EPA is on site, because they are NUTS. In this era where a Blond Woman can be fired for telling a Blond Joke, the EPA should be held to an even higher standard of conduct. Who would ever dream that the exhaust coming out of our Jeeps had to be cleaner than the air going in, in some cases like LA. Thank CARB and EPA on that one. Or Waste Water having to be cleaner than Potable water we drink, it does happen. Thank EPA and elected Idiots again. How about some stupid US Forest/National Park proposed legislation (not just an idiot who shot off their mouth) that would allow them to confiscate your Jeep for having the wrong type of rock stuck in your tire tread ( i have read the proposal many times for the last 30 years and yes it has even been given an HB or SB number). Yes, no sane Forest Ranger or Park Ranger would do it, but when it is on the books, some wacko can or will do it. The Farm Lobby may have run with it as any lobby would do, but the Dumb stupid was the EPA IDIOT who opened their mouth in the first place ![]() ![]() Will the Farm Lobby stop this, lets all hope so. I like Beef, Pork, and milk products. BTW: In the right light, any helicopter will look black, even an orange or white one. C130's at night make the best UFOs until they bank and show their profile. |

The EPA is considering a $1 a can tax on baked beans and requiring computers that record miles traveled on bean-powered vehicles such as this one: http://www.drinkalot.com/Pictures/941/B ... d_bike.htm |

Now that I'm going to be living in Texas (notice the new location on the LH side of the screen), maybe I'll get lucky and they'll decide to become a republic again - wouldn't have to deal with worrying about such nonsense. |
