Problem started a day ago with a puff of black smoke and loss of power. I can hear the turbo spin but I am getting no boost. It seems to hit a flat spot around 2000 RPM. I started it this morning and it ran for 10 seconds , and now it will not start again. Question......... Has this ever happened to anyone? I also had a friend read the codes it came up with a P0299. What should I start looking at first?

P0299-BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR POSITIVE DEVIATION

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=40073

Check your hoses that run from the turbo to the intercooler and to the intake. May need to clean the MAP sensor.

Blown CAC hose. A bad vacuum reservoir solenoid or a dirty MAP sensor will not cause a black cloud of smoke.

I had the samething and it was the vacuum hose going from the reservoir to the turbo. I put a regular vaccum hose and it is working.

It has been a year since I traded in my CRD. After returning to this forum and seeing the problems that still plague you owners, I am happy to have traded it. I did love the concept of my CRD but not the support that Chrysler demonstrated.

VW R32 owner LK :)

While I don't miss the fuel economy of the jeep or the danish taxes on owning such a car, I seriously miss that diesel rumble and automatic transmission sometimes. Especially when going to our family forest for firewood the jeep is missed. Though possibly my old patrol would be more suited to the rough work I would have tossed it into :)

A good steak is more work at the grill than a hamburger. As you finish it off with a cold beer, it's worth it

To make a fine woman purr like a cat you have to invest a lot of time and atention. As you go to sleep with a stupid grin on your face, it's worth it.

a beautiful lawn takes a lot of mowing and fertilizer. When people look twice as they drive by, it's worth it.

The CRD needs a little more care than a Toyota Camry. As you blast away from the punny gasser mall cruisers at the stop light, it's worth it.

Sadly, some folks nuke a TV dinner and call it good, then run out and rent a porno, and watch the weeds take over the yard.

You forgot the worst part - they leave their gasser [patooie!] neglected in the driveway.

We're a two diesel family... 8)
