Just ordered a 4 ton one.

Thought id pass it around. Pretty cool. Its just a low pressure bag but does the job and fits in the trunk. Works well in mud too!

Maybe it's just me, but that thing looks dangerous. Perhaps they should call it the widowmaker ;)

we use low pressure bags at the fire station all the time. They work very well and are very reliable. I'm not sure how well this one will work but time will tell. We just used one last week to lift a flipped car enough to pull someone out. We do NOT use exhaust though for rescues. Something about breathing in bad stuff

These have been around for years. I remember seeing them on TV when I was a kid.

International had a power lift to raise up cultivators and plows that used exhaust pressure.
My 82 year old Mother was not yet in High School when that was the rage.

I'd been thinking about such a 'thingy', but I'm still not sure how it would help when you got stuck. Yes it could lift the Jeep, but then wont it tear when you drive off of it?

The idea of the exhaust jack is to raise the wheels high enough out of the mud (or whatever) to allow you to place rocks/branches/passing children under the wheel to give you traction. YOU DEFLATE AND REMOVE THE JACK BEFORE DRIVING OFF!!

Ribbon, the bags we use at the station are a bit more sturdy, and even those break .... PLUS you know how the saying goes, lift one inch -> crib 1 inch. ( im prety sure that anyone that uses that bag, doesnt have nice cribbing to put under the car).

I hope no one decides to work under the car with that thing inflated as a lift point. Now it would be an awesome tool to have, if you have to change a tire... in the mudd.

yes. they are made much better. That is a bit overkill for my jeep though :P yeah i definitely wouldn't crawl under a car with just one of these. this is more for getting you out of the mud
