today our crd began exhibiting odd behavior, and just hoping it has been sighted before: studders upon acceleration and when the turbo kicks in you can hear a rushing air noise near the drivers front fender area that is definetely not its standard whine. the power seems to be less, so the turbo has to kick in more. very strange to me. thank you in advance. |

Check the CAC on that side it sounds like you are losing boost pressure. |

The blue hoses in the photos are the Best replacements - but the routing is the same and if you're hearing an air leak - but haven't noticed a huge performance drop - then you're probably still at the small split at one end stage. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=27109&highlight=samco |

IF you take some diaper wipes and clean up the offending area real well, take some 1" wide tape and make several wraps around the hose on either side of the tear, then use some duct tape to "seal" up the tear it will get you several hundred miles as long as you don't use heavy foot and keep the speed down. You might hear a whistling with heavier throttle settings but you can move. |

just looked and there is a rub mark where the turbo out hose rubs against the accordian ribbed intake pipe. (the photo link enclosed help locate) maybe 1/16 rubbed off, but considering the symptoms this could be the culprit. thank you again! |

Yep CAC hose. You're lucky it didn't blow quick like mine did Make sure you look under the braided loom too. It sounds like a small leak. When mine blew it has a 3" split right in the middle of the hose. |
