Trying to figure out gears for my tires. I want 235/85/16 (31.7" tall) Do you think 4.56 gears would be too tall? Stock gears and tires give rpm of: 2006rpm at 70mph. 4.11 gears and 235 tires give: 70mph = 2056rpm 4.56 gears and 235 tires give 70mph = 2281 rpm. For the CRD guys is that to much rpm at 70 mph????? |

So you're going solid front axle in your CRD? Cool |

No not being a wise guy but that would be the only way to run 4.56 gears in a CRD Liberty so thought you were heading that way , sorry ![]() |

not quite, its a Dana 30 A which makes it just a little different so 4.10s are it, the lowest they go, now the new Liberty KKs can go deeper due to some design changes but the KJs not so lucky or there would be way more running around with lower gears than 4.10s ...sucks doesn't it! Tom |

The front diff in the 2008+ will take standard Dana 30 gears, but the gears for the D30A in the 2002-2007 are unique to this diff. They only were made by Dana Spicer and they only made three versions, 3:55 3:73 and 4:10 |

The CRD engine will spin all day at 2300 rpm - did that on I10 (80mph) but you'll get 15mpg doing it. |

From Salt Lake City to Helena, Montana. 521 miles I ususally travel at 85mph (2400 rpm) Last Night the lying EVIC said 29mpg but it will calculate out to about 24mpg. i have taken the libby off road a few times not rock crawing but i have found that it has plenty of power. I was actually looking for a wrecked v6 5sp and get the gears out of it as i think that those came with the 3.42 ratio. |
