Post subject: | CRD owner roll call |
Nice to see all the interest again in our cult CRD's, along w/ the lower price of #2 USLD this year. This forum has come a long way in improving our little diesels, and helping out everyone through some tough times w/ tranny, hoses and fuel supply issues etc. So how about a roll call of owners? I know some people had ditched their CRD's, but now it seems like a new influx of pre-owned CRD members. I have a '06 CRD Sport. Purchased last one NEW off the lot in Oct. of '06. 2nd Jeep but first diesel, can't imagine going back to a petrol. 38K mi. Mods include: ORM, Samco Sport hoses, ProVent, CAT fuel filter, Magnaflo muffler, Fumoto drain valve, all Mopar skids, Unique steel HD wheels & Cooper Discoverer ATR's, front tow hooks, rear hitch shackle, Rocky Mountain Sheepskin Co. seatcovers. |

While i'm not a CRD owner yet, I should be in a couple weeks. As soon as I'm done with the project I'm now on I'll be traveling somewhere in the US to pick up a used CRD. Nice thread. |

I just joined the forum recently, and have owned my 05 CRD limited for about a month. I have been swooning over these since they came out in 2005, and I like the diesel in the KJ much better than the 3.7 V6. This is my 5th jeep, and 2nd liberty, but also my first diesel vehicle. It has 58k now, and runs great. I am the second owner, and the first owners took pretty good care of it from what I can tell. Mods so far include an AFE proguard 7 air filter, PIAA hedlight bulbs, de-catted 2.5" exhaust with a stainless magnaflow 24" muffler and Gibson exhaust tip , new General grabber AT2 tires (245/70/16), rock crusher diff cover, and redline synthetics in both axles and transfer cases. Transgo shift kit is next on the list, along with a new glow plug on cylinder 4. After that, provent, SEGR, and inmotion tuning. The list goes on and on, but I really love this thing so far. |

Been here a couple of years, had the jeep about the same. Purchased used w/29k miles, EGR/FCV at 31k miles, SEGR after EGR, in-tank fuel pump, Fumoto; presently at 86k trouble-free miles. Runs like a sewing machine, but if I hadn't found this place I doubt I'd still have the jeep. There are a few essentials to keeping baby running well, and I discovered them all here. Mark |

Have an 05 Limited CRD. This forum has been a lot of help in keeping it running well. Modifications I've made that are worth it are: 1. Fumoto oil drain valve 2. PIAA headlights 3. Kennedy fuel pump with Racor filter before Mopar filter 4. Provent 5. Samco hoses 6. 2002 air box and inlet system 7. Removing of the MAF sensor plug (will be adding a SEGR when I get it built). This kills the EGR valve. 8. Replacement of transfer case case lube with special lube formulated for Jeep cases by RPG gear (I think this the right name). Other people have used Royal Purple ATF with good results. Thanks to these change, it's running well at 63,000. I hope to make it to 200,000+. Hopefully, FIAT will keep the parts available. It's a typical diesel, if you keep the fuel and air clean and the oil changed, it is a very reliable machine. The only part that has died on it was the alternator vibration dampening pulley. |

We bought our 06 CRD in December of 2008 with 9200 miles on it and now we are at 15,500. It is the wifes daily driver, this is my 4th diesel. So far the dealer has replaced the filter head and replaced all the power windows. I have done the orm along with the EHM. Love the engine but the Jeep part we are not impressed with. I have not posted until now but I would be lost without this site. I have considered getting rid of it already but would probably lose my hind end... |

Bought mine in August of 2007 with 24k on the clock. The previous owner was a long time TDI guy and already had it lifted with a Provent and chip. I will turn over 70k in the next day or two and she still runs great. This forum has saved my bacon on a number of occasions. The only reason why I bought the Liberty was for the CRD. Now I can't imagine not having it. In fact, it has been decided that the wife's next car will be a CRD too (or she gets mine and I get a Sport that I can mod the crap out of ![]() |

Ordered mine from the factory January 2006. Recieved it Feb 18 2006. I have always had diesels but this is my first Jeep. I just love it. Has 56,000 miles on it now. I pull my camper all over the Colorado mountians with it every year. I read the forum every day and have found it very helpful. |

Jeep Green 2006 Sport. Bought used in September 2008 with 24K miles. Previous owner was a little old lady (really) so it was completely stock. Now have 45K miles and loving it. ORM (SEGR awaiting install) for 4500 miles Fumoto (to be installed tomorrow) Tires are the next investment - thinking 245/70/16 BFG A/T KO's. Had some on a Pathfinder and they worked GREAT. |

"The Princess" still loves her little Jeep..... I bet they really are fun to drive. I just get to drive it in and out of the garage for service. I've spent more time under the hood and underneath than inside. If one of you guys is ever in my neighborhood could you stop by and let me drive it around the block. You can ride along.... ![]() |
