According to reports by members, lab tests of filters show that the paper ones work best at removing particulates. The K & N filters let some fine sand through. But, the longevity and effectiveness of the paper filters can be enhanced by going to the 2002 airbox setup. I've done this and it doubles the life of the filter, from 5000 miles to 10,000 miles.

Amsoil Ea series drop-in. # Eaa201. About $42-ish shipped to your door if you shoot me a pm about it. Cleanable/reusable, no special cleaners of oils to add and actually filters the air while flowing well.

EaA201 is $29 plus any state tax and shipping. Normally under $40.

Shipping out of the country is no problem either. You pay actual shipping charge.
Shipping to SA via USPS Priority International Mail is $31.50.

This is a 2 micron absolute meaning it traps 98.9% of all particles 2 micron and larger. Your $8 OEM is not even close to that. Yes it is cleanable. I have found the best way to clean it is use a shop vac on the inlet side first. Then use low pressure (20-40psi) from the clean side. Cleaning it more often IMHO is better and does not take so much to clean it and will last longer.

my absolute is 99.97% at .3 microns (but that's not automotive)

you might need to state who's setting your standard -

because the times I have looked it up - there was no industry standard.

Did a search but the search function is a pain on this site, unless I'm using it wrong. Which Air filter should I get? Should I go with the stock paper or Plastic (micro fiber)?? Any recommendations on brands? Thanks. SORRY IF YOU HAVE SEEN THIS QUESTION 100 Times!!

I have a K&N free to anyone who wants it, you pay for shipping. You not talking big bucks when it comes to air filters and the paper type work fine, just replace them more frequently if you driving in dusty areas. It doesn't make sense using the free flow type filter on our CRD's as their is no performance improvement that's worthwhile raving about never mind the dust they allow through them. Go and buy the K &N sticker and stick in on your Jeep and just pretend that you have one rather than use these things.

BTW, if your air filter is letting 2 micron particles through, it sucks.
