I removed my idler pulleys this weekend, and one of the bolts sheared off when I was loosening it. It looks like it was overtightened, or the last person to work on the pulleys did not realize that they are left hand thread, anyways, I need to know where I can get a replacement bolt ASAP. I have looked everywhere, and I cant find what I am looking for. If I order a new idler pulley from moparonlineparts.com or similar does it come with a new bolt? Or does someone know a bolt supplier online that I could order it from. I think its an M10 x 35mm with 1.5mm thread pitch. Any suggestion would be helpfull.

Thanks

If you could find a bolt of the proper strength which had 35mm of unthreaded shank , a machine shop might be able to cut off the threaded portion and thread the remaining length with left-hand threads, or you could do it yourself if you find a LHT die.

Might also snoop around a wrecking yard.

McMaster Carr sells components that can be assembled to make this bolt. They are:

10 x 1.5 threaded rod, class 4.6 steel, 300 mm long, #98817A260, price is $13.50

and

10 x 1.5 mm nuts, grade 8 steel, quantity of 50, price , #93695A180, price is $12.

The total cost will be around $30 with shipping. Very expensive for a bolt, and you will have to cut the rod and lock tite or braze it together, a pain. But this part may be tough to find in a junkyard, and you aren't having much luck elsewhere. I'd try as comprehensive a search as you can on the net, this bolt must be used in European cars, before you use the McMaster route.
