05infernoCRDL let us know what you think and report back on how your torque converter holds up. I'm really wanna do this but need to wait a few more months at least.

I asked the forum about getting the Suncoast clutch pack along with the TC and Transgo, and danoid offered a good opinion on the clutch pack.

yeah i remember that... well... my trans took a dump at 56K... i am not getting the clutch pack to improve shifting just longevity... and the rebuild kit that the trans guy gets from all trans is very similar to the HD hit with the exception of the overdrive clutches.. in the HD kit they are single sided... my OD gears went out... i am thinking that a little vibration when stopped in gear (not present in N or P) was a sticking selenoid (sp?) that was letting those gears get mangled all the time..

and the HD kit isn't too much more expensive than the kit he would buy plus the Front pump he would have to buy, the kit includes it...

so my purchase of the kit is not cause my trans was fine and i had to have it.. .it is cause i feel that i needed it... but only time will tell...

i'll definitely keep everyone updated and the guy that is doing the build used to build racing transmissions so he should be able to get everything lined up correctly

Hahah good one warped!

I was thinking about the refrenced guy that disliked his install.. I think He took it to a shop and had them do the entire thing... My resistor is on a switch... And I remember that when I first felt how the truck bucked when the switch was turned on I was shocked thought the trans was going to explode... I am wondering if that resistor is what the guy didn't like..

The resistor is nice under wot and when towing but for a DD it sucks...

So I'm the test pilot I guess for the HD kit with a selective resistor... I'll keep informed and when I get home tonight or tomorrow I'll start a new thread refrencing this one and the other one
