While making a right turn into NAPA a 16 year old rear ended me. She apparently didnt see my turn signal. Then when i asked if she saw me at all she said no to that also. Hopefully insurance will come through and i will get it repaired free of charge. Nice to see rear 1/4 dmg too :(

What i can see. left 1/4 rear. bumper. supports. and trunk is dinged at the corner. All doors close fine it seems and no frame damage that i can see.

Sorry to hear that man. I never got that upset about accidents before, but now I think I'd be different. My other cars were just cars.

The good news is this time next week the big brown truck is going to bring you a new toy...

If you are alright, don't sweat it to much...between insurance and the guys here on LOST you can make out really well. Supply your own parts to pocket a few dollars, and then upgrade to a new bumper or pad your wallet for some other upgrade. I for one have the flares and rear bumper that I could sale to you to save a few, although I say go for a nice custom rear at the insurance's expense.

Bummer dude. Except that if you've got a cooperative shop, you could end up with a nice offroad bumper and maybe sub in some Renegade fender flares as replacements. Is there any damage to the sheet metal in the rear quarter, or just to the plastic and the supports?

Maybe there's some suspension damage and the shocks and struts need to be replaced, too. With a Frankenlift. 8)

It looks like the bottom of the rear 1/4 is bent a little. Not too bad. I'm sure i could just cover it up with a new bumper but I might want to get it repaired. Not sure yet. On the drive to work i noticed that my blinker wasn't working... actually none of the lights on the left rear are working. Hopefully its just dead bulbs from the shock. I am going to take a better look when i get home.
There is a chip on the bottom left of the trunk also.

I'm liking the renegade flare idea. Not sure about the metal bumper... how much do they weigh?
I looked at their site and it says it has a hitch. So i would have two? Wouldn't that look goofy?

I had a 3 mph direct-on rear end a few years ago. Drove the spare wheel into the tailgate. It's never been the same.

I've been concerned about that myself. Short of installing a fabricated bumper with an integrated tire-carrier or putting the spare on a roof rack, I don't see any good way to protect against that. If you're going to fabricate braces to reinforce the factory carrier, you might as well just spend the money on a totally fabricated bumper, ya know? Or else install a BAR pointed to 6:00 to deter motorists from slamming into it. . .

The Hensley Arrow hitch has one of those bars. It's 2" x 2" solid steel. The 4" drop bar fits perfectly under the spare tire when installed upside down. It makes small square impressions in Siverado front bumpers that get too close...

The bars run $150 but I don't know if you can purchase them separately.

You would pull that rear hitch off and sell it for other mods you want to buy.
