The stupid emissions engineers who designed this retarded booty EGR system. It took me all weekend, and with my brother's help, but I replaced the FCV with minimal issues and lots of swearing. The way that whole intake and EGR system is set up is retarded. And talk about the GUNK that builds up BEHIND the EGR track. I can't beleive they didn't identify that during designing. With the money I saved though, I 'accidentally' ordered the SS MBRP Exhaust for her! Once I get her smogged, GDE here I come! |

My FCV failed. Since it doesn't make any difference if it works or not, I decided not to replace it. I am happy with my solution. |

I know, but VA now does emissions on Diesels, so I have to have it. |

LOL, it doesn't throw a CEL. And I doubt if it will make any difference in passing the emissions test. |

Ill lay money that with a declawed cat and a SEGR you would still pass emissions just fine. Everything is there visually and no CEL's. You'll be happy too.... |

Katmandu, Check out this link, it is a thread in the Tech section. The FCV stands for "Flow Control Valve," it is a valve on the intake that controls the flow of exhaust gas from the EGR valve into the intake. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=24961 |

When my FCV went out it didn't throw a code for a couple months. Then I started getting P1140. Replaced under warranty. |
