In a previous thread I had an 870 coded being thrown. I changed atf and filters but it's still here. Since I was running ORM I also have code 102. I plugged the maf connector back in and the check engine light went out but my code reader stills shows 102 and 870. I'm trying to get to where I just have 870 showing and then take it to the dealer. How long before it will clear the 102 code? |

For "Most" OBDII computers to clear the codes themselves, it usually takes 1 or 2 "Drive Cycles." A drive Cycle is when the engine goes from cold-to hot-to cold. The computer watches the water temp for this input. Hope this helps. |

If the system stored it as a history code(no MIL light on) it can take from 50 or more drive cycles. |

Well it's been way more than a couple of cycles but not 50. Strange thing is if I let my reader clear both codes the 870 code won't come back until I pull the maf plug. They can't be related. 870 is a transmission code. It tried clearing all codes and then running non-ORM but got no codes. I then pulled the plug and now I have both. |
