Post subject:  MAP sensor from MOPAR Parts America

I ordered a MAP sensor from MOPAR Parts America but the part I recieved wasn't a MAP sensor and didn't look like a MAF. Anyone have any luck ordering the MAP sensor online? I guess $55 including shipping was too good to be true.

update: Reordered the New Part Number : 68031593AA and Dave from Mopar Parts said he would give me free next day shipping and apologized for sending the wrong part. Fed Ex will pick up wrong part and they will credit the account when they get it back. They seem to have great prices and the service is good.

Yep - and guess what? They get to eat it because they selected and shipped the wrong part based on errors in the
DCJ parts heirarchy

Old Part Number : 5140331AA
New Part Number : 68031593AA
Listed as SENSOR AIR TEMPERATU under MoparPartsAmerica.
Most dealers have it and list it as a Boost Sensor. Best bet is to jut give them the part number and avoid the confusion. Been there done that.

Price ranges from 80-130 bucks. I paid 130 at the dealer for a quick fix after cleaning the map failed.

I'm sure a lot of people have wasted their money this way. Good news is moparpartsamerica agreed they sent me the wrong part. Fedex picked it up yesterday (on them) and they will refund 100% when they get it. Call the number on the site and complain. You have to fight with them.

Looks like ribbon may have broken the ice for you there fishman. I'd be willing to bet that they were aware of the issue because of ribbon's experience (what, like 2 weeks ago?) and so were more easily persuaded, but hadn't yet put a note in their database about the part confusion. Hopefully two of these in the span of a month (that we know about) where they had to eat shipping costs will encourage them to do an update so this doesn't happen again.

The dealer i went to locally had it listed as a Dodge only part. :x Kinda strange. I guess they deny they made CRD Liberty's in the US.

Ribbon

ALL CRD Liberties were made in the US but only sold in the US for 05 and 06. They made Cherokee diesels in Toledo as far back as 1992 but we could never get one here  Same goes for the ones that use the VW TDI engine. Made here, sent everywhere but here

I think we need to make a diesel stealin ring for export only cars... who's in?
We can ride in style... until we get caught.

I haven't thrown any codes but replaced mine because my fuel mileage has dropped and I notice more soot coming out the exhaust. Somebody else posted here that the map sensor could possibly cause this. Mine has been cleaned every oil change since abou 36k (now at 73k miles) I just changed it out yesterday and will find out if it helped. Worse case I have a spare sensor if it doesn't help and given no local dealers keep them in stock it could come in handy.

So not to be dense, but this is the part we are talking about for P/N 68031593AA,
, right?

Cleaned mine the other day - much smoother acceleration and I hope better MPG too.

Well of course when you Necro-Post you're going to see price differences like that. The Timing Belt Tool VM 1085 in 2010 could be bought retail for $230. Now if you can find one for under $700 you're doing pretty good or stealing it.

If you look at the dates on the posts, you'll see the prices you were reading were from 2010, and there were less aftermarket supplies and suppliers then.
