I have no crystal ball to project any damage, but I have had diesels with bad injector washers before that survived. Here is what is most apt to happen: Bore has to be cleaned out with wire brush or patch like what is used on a musket to remove carbon so the new washer will seat, try to keep the gunk out of the engine. Inspect where the washer seats. Tip of injector "may" over heat (heat goes into the head to cool the injector) and require a rebuilt injector to be installed. The easy way to test is clean up everything, install the injector and see if the engine runs OK. I have had it both ways. Good Luck and I hope your Mechanic has not found a Pot of Gold in your repair job. |

cheers warp, gettig it done on thursday,a guy who a friend of friend took out injectors over a month ago, when he cleaned injectors but he made mistake of taking injectors apart which i was told afterward he shouldnt have as the are preasure tested tightened when put back together to give off right mist flow, any ways ,2 of injector holes had dirt fall into them, and one of them is number 4 injector which is leaking out,so mech is going to take out and says the washer is probly damaged and will have to replace, |
