is it just me or is it odd that the starter would go out on our 06 crd? considering it is not driven that much, 50k miles and my wife drive our nissan more when gas is cheaper then diesel... |

I would say that is odd.Haven't heard much about starters going out,but you can't really judge the life of a starter by miles (the whole hyway vs. city thing),but you should go more than 3 yrs on a starter. Each CRD has it's good parts and their bad parts. You may have 50k miles on your factory EGR,and someone else replaced theirs at 15k miles. Mass produced junk. ![]() |

As already stated in this post, it is possible for a starter to go bad prematurely. Other causes could be too many extended cranks on the starter, which is possible with faulty glow plugs or not allowing the glow plugs to perform before initial cranking.... |
