Hello everyone,

I am getting two codes from the ECM. One is 700 and the other is 725. The 700 I tracked down as the TCM telling the ECM that it set a code. The 725 code I have not been able to track down. Any information available on this code?

I went to run errands and got to my second stop. Everything fine at this point. Finished errand and started the jeep, put it into drive and got a thunk along with the jeep wanting to lurch forward. Proceeded to head home and the 2nd and 3rd gear shift were also followed with a thunk at each shift. Went to accelerate from a stop light and the jeep just sat there for a minute as it winded up. It did start to accelerate after a short delay, not the normal get up and go. On the way home, I noticed that it would not shift into 4th gear. Also, I think it was not downshifting either at each stop light which might account for the delay on acceleration (not sure though). Got home, stopped the engine. No fluid leaks noticed. After starting the engine again, check the transmission fluid level, level was okay. Took jeep for short drive, now it is shifting fine as if there was no problem to begin with. Any clues as to what might have caused this? I’m thinking maybe a problem in the valve body. Wanted to see what others thought?

P0725 is the primary speed sensor on the side of the 545RFE - senses input clutch drum rpm, compared to secondary speed sensor on the output shaft drum, tells ECM and TCM how much slippage is occuring under various circumstances - may be oxidized\corroded connector, or failed sensor - driver's-side front of transmission case, 2-wire connector - would likely give symptoms you experienced

Both of the sensors are the same. easy to install and not that expensive.

So what was the fix ???
