Fellas, could sure use some electrical help.

Where would be the best place to pick up power supply to gauges and the processor?

TIA.

I did 'add a circuits' in the fuse box. I don't really like it, but I'm not electrically included to figure out which wires do what.

On my 05 CRD, there was a hot wire with a 30 Amp fuse circuit for the aux overhead lights, which I don’t have. The wire was in the connector on the drivers side, for the body. This circuit is/was open and already wired in, complete with a fuse installed from the factory. I used it for my brake controller power.

Look it up in the schematics, I think it was something like connector C101, or C100.

If you want, let me know if you can’t find it and I will look it up.

TurboTim,

Yes, that would be really helpful or let me know where I can find it.

Saturday is coming, and I have someone to help me so I'm scrambling to get this info together.

These gauges just gotta go in!

It feels like I'm driving around naked.

Ok, according to the schematics, behind the left side kick panel is connector C100. (Drivers side, behind the plastic cover, just in front of the door jamb. This plastic cover touches the floor).

This circuit is for the overhead light bar which most of us don't have. It starts at fuse 12, 30 Amps. It is located under the hood in the power/fuse box next to the battery. Fuse 12 is the corner fuse, top left.

This circuit goes to the connector behind the kick panel, connector C100. Cavity # 60 should be a red 14 AWG wire. You will note that on the one side of the connector (that comes from the fuse box), you will see a pin in the # 60 spot. On the other half of the connector, spot # 60 will be open.

This is how I came to use it for power for my brake controller.

Hook up a test light to C100, cavity # 60 and then go pull fuse # 12 in the fuse box under the hood. The light should go off.

Now if it does go off, it is time for some cold liquid refreshment!

Let us know how this works for you.

TurboTim,

We will try with Fuse #12.
Processor for gauges calls for 15A fuse so mabe we can replace the OEM one and it will look real neat.

The install begins tomorrow and just got in some good info on sensor placement. A trusted expert.
A couple of them may have to go into the block, so it should be real interesting.
I'm stoked. This should turn out real nice.

Will let you know how the cold beverage tasted.
