What brake caliper slider lube have you who have done your brakes, found to be good to keep the rear calipers from sticking. My rears started going metal on metal last week and today I get the joy of replacing the brakes in the rain. I am going to try to get the rotors turned by the parts store, but they may not want to if too much metal is gone. Anyway, I remember that a few folks had posted that their rear sliders had stuck and wondered if they had found a solution.

The bronze paste/gue/lube is was I've used in the past. Kinda remember that it was expensive. One of my heavy mechanic bud's uses the same stuff.

Edit: I use this on the pad backing themselves. Not on the caliper.

I just did this job a month ago. I'll check the brand of brake assembly lube when I get home. I just bought a big jar of it from autozone for around $10

Rotors are not expensive, $25-$40 each as I recall. Rears are more expensive than the fronts.

I noticed last time that the pins in the caliper weren't lubed at all from the factory and I had one that was corroded. (The pins are what the caliper rides on). I pulled the pin out of the boot, filled each of the boots with lube and re-inserted the pin. Much smoother operation now. Don't feel the brakes drag as long when I release the pedal.

I would buy the hardware kit, The have it at Autozone its about $10 and includes the new SS channels that the pads ride on. I tried cleaning them the first time I changed the pads with limited success. the tabs that hold them in place break easily and if broken could cause the pads to stick and wear unevenly. Lube the channels up well. First time I bought them from the dealer and I think they ran me about $20 for just one side.

This!

This is the product you are looking for. About $10-30 depending on where you get it. I have done 4 full disk brake jobs with mine, and still have half the can left.

Worth every penny!

Well, I wish now that I had gotten these replies before I finished up. I should have used the bronze stuff. I was surprised by how clean they were. I used a couple of tubes of the brake grease that they have at the parts counter. I greased the pins and sliders with as much grease as they would take. O-Riellies Auto turned the rotors for me for 8 bucks each. I told them that they were off of some farm equipment so that they wouldn't refuse to mill them because they were 1 micron too thin. Next time I do the brakes I will replace the rotors. They are only 32 bucks a pop. Thanks for all the replies. At least I know now for next time.

Chlorides attack anything containing Iron including 304 Stainless Steel like the stock exhaust system is made of.
Anti Seize works for a few years, I use it.
I have used the copper, the bronze, and zinc colored versions, they all work.

Forget to use it, it doesn't work.
