No just replaced with Autozone johnson control battery tried to price match walmart and gave me 10 percent off $92. Walmart sounds like place to get your battery. 2005 CRD battery failed 12.6 volts, 330 cold crank amp.

Yes still using the original battery with no problems and now pushing the 70k mark. The optima batteries are the way to go. They are a different breed altogether than a conventional lead acid or sealed battery. They are definitely worth the extra money.

I bit the bullet and swapped out the original Red Top for a Diehard Platinum (rebadged, cheaper Odyssey) this past Sunday. Mine has been dying for awhile (had two popped caps), and there was absolutely no way it was going to start Monday morning with a forecast low of 2F, block heater or not. The Platinum fires up instantly even at these temps with no effort. Of course, then I have ten minutes of "angry tractor syndrome" while the engine heats up. Ah, how I love pissing off the neighbors first thing in the morning. :D

Wind chill is irreverent. What was the air temperature?

Just because the wind chill -10F, and the air temperature is +10F, doesn't mean your battery is -10F. Your battery WILL be 10F.

My 2005 has 99,750 miles, and I ordered the timing belt parts last week. Along with the intake hose from intercooler to EGR/intake valve, which blew out last thursday. And until today, it was using the original battery, too. But I went out this morning to start it so I could move it to work on taping up that hose until the parts arrive, and the battery had completely died over the weekend. So I'm not sure how to answer the poll, but I can tell you exactly how long my original battery lasted.

My OEM redtop lasted 7 years before it started showing signs like having a harder time in cold weather. Having had considerable experience with Optimas in other vehicles, I have to say that was really remarkable. They're good, but in my experience 4-5 years is a good life span for them.
