This weekend I attended a GTG of TDI owners and one fellow with a 96 Passat tdi put on a clutch alternator pulley like ours. With the solid pulley the tensioner bounced all over the place and with the clutch pulley it was as smooth as silk. So they are definetly a good thing. He also had installed a lift pump and a special adaptor for a big yellow CAT filter :lol: (yellow didn't show up well)
