Post subject:  Preventative maintenance program for our KJ

I just had an idea, the dealer got his program but it doesn't seem to be enough. What if we would make a list of recommendations to avoid problems. First, I think everybody should change their filter head to Racor 245 series , add the transgo shift kit, add some kind of ccv filter or orm. Maybe we could determine an interval for the alternator decoupler pulley. I don't know about the lift pump, it helps but if you don't have problems after installing the Racor fuel filter, what's the need. Changing the drain plugs on the transfer case to standard hex instead of allen plugs. Installing the husky liner to avoid water under the carpet in cold areas. Change the front ball joints to greasable Moog ball joints. Extend the breather hoses if you go offroading. Which other recommendations would you make to avoid problems in order to enjoy our KJ for a long time?

My regime, assuming no new parts like JBA Arms, etc.

1. Provent from new
2. regular oil change - every 8000km (5000miles) max.
3. Fuel filter changes at every 25000km (15,450 miles) maximum.
4. Air filter changes at 10000km (6200 miles) or sooner when required.
5. Boost Sensor (aka MAP) cleaned every 8000km (5000m miles).
6. Ball joint inspection at every oil change.

and keep it away from the dealer service as much as possible.
