Well I cleaned the EGR and cleared the CEL and it has yet to come back on in about two weeks (knock on wood!).
I want to get up to GDE and have them put their tune on it but since I'm in the middle of buying my first house I am going to have to hold off for a while... maybe that tax credit will pay for it ha!

For now I would like to keep the EGR from getting caked up again and since most say it is useless can you just block it off altogether ? just get a piece of gasket and cut it to size and install it in place of the normal gasket? Will this screw with anything???

It will trigger a CEL eventually.

It is true if you block off the EGR it will throw a CEL, BUT....If you install a SEGR module, your EGR problems are gone forever (blocked off too).

Yeah, you might as well just do the ORM, if you are gonna do all that work, just to get a CEL.

Well with what I would like to think as most of us, our CRD is a labor of love...there are at least 250+ SEGR's installed and running out there, all with :D owners

Well if you are the owner of an export model then you have the privelage of blocking off the EGR and it not throwing a cel
