Post subject:  Does Prius Repellent really work?

After getting a good laugh a few months ago when I saw "Emits Prius Repellent" lettering in the back window of a Dodge Cummins with 4" Dual Vertical Pipes, I made my own and put it in the back window.

After driving 1000+ miles this week around the Midwest, I noticed that ever time I passed a Prius they would drift to the edge of their lane.

Your comments please, I am puzzled.

At least some of them don't know how to drive. My Aunt hit a pothole on the interstate in one and totaled it out.

I think mine emmits prius repelent.

I can't stand how prius drivers drive, they go slow, weave in there lane, and a larger precentacge of prius owers than any other car need to come to nearly a total stop to make a right turn.

I also like to smoke prius or any hibryd that is behind me.

Was that a pothole, or a CANYON? How in the world can you total a car out from just a pothole, unless loss of control is also a factor?

She did not lose control or hit anything else, just a big pothole at 70mph.

Wow. I'm equally impressed by the frailty of the Prius... And the car-eating chasm that she must have driven into. Did the local municipality at least cough up for the replacement value of the car? I would certainly have considered that as their responsibility. It must have been an interesting conversation with the insurance. "Yea, I had an accident. I hit the ground."

Out of curiosity, where was this? It wasn't on the Gowanus parkway on Long Island was it? Or I-10 between Pensacola and Texas? Both of those are more TRAILS than roads.

When I was in LA earlier in the year, I rented a Prius just to see what the hype was all about. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out the right sequence to get the darn thing to move.

They are high on the smell of their own flatulence. The CRD is the only thing which can blow away the smug.

Offical Prius haters club member #1......me.Prius owners don't have the will or mechanical know to make something green so they just sent all there money over seas to power comminustic and non-USA motives.I thought they were cute until I met the type of people who drive them around here.....I was picking strawberries @ a farm with my family having a great time until we got to the parking lot to leave. There was three hybrids(2 prius and 1 insight) on some uber-yuppy scenery trip.As I was loading up the family (my wife, our son,my sister in-law and her 2 kids as well as my mother and father in-law) into our 2000 ford excursion diesel one of the owners stated to me in a better then me voice"How in a economic time like this, with fuel prices so high (I think it was $ 4.25 a gallon for diesel then),with all the men dying overseas can you drive such a fuel hog?"My retort began like this "show a hybrid that can haul 8 people and I'll buy it today, never mind I'll show you a hybrid that can".I walked to the back of the truck and opened the rear hatch, exposing the WVO tank.........there jaws dropped.I proceeded to tell them how I converted it using the DFA V3 and I got between 100-300 MPG on #2.And that the nitrogen that i produced running on WVO eraticated the emmissons there lil puddle jumpers made. After all was said and done they still thought they were better,I guess because they didn't have to get there hands dirty or something.I think this is a wide spread problem and suggest producing "prius Repellant" 24-7-365 to rid this great earth of such a burden...........rant over........oh I voted other...

It was about 95° out and I was sitting in a parking space with my engine running and air on (kids were in back) in a 2004 Hemi Durango. The Prius owner walked past me with an air of obvious disdain looking at my gas guzzling SUV. I smiled but didn't wave. He then proceeded to climb into his fancy new enviro car, engage drive (not reverse - important point) and slam into the parking curb ahead of him. The look of disdain turned into pure acid as he could hear the laughter that I could not stop.

I only work on hybrids so I can afford diesels...

:P "Smug Alert" is one of my favorite South Park episodes. That and "Die, Hippie, Die" and "ManBearPig".

I need a "We Must Stop ManBearPig" sticker for my CRD.

Don't forget the Paris Hilton Episode. That one has to go to the top of the list. The Lord of the Rings episode was up there too.

I have been noticing more of those Prius things on the road. and Yeah when I even pass them going the other way they get way over close to the right as possable most of the time.

In defense of the battery thing poluting the environment I did some reading on them. they use a Nickel-metal battery, nearly all the parts of it can be recycled. Not as bad as I thought. Then on the negitive I seen alot of things on the internet about people wanting to sue Toyota cus their Prius's HID head lights fail randomly and repeatedly and Toyota is not sucessful at perminatly repairing many of then even under warranty.
