second time this has happend to me after driving on the highway. The car feels like it is not running smoothly and then goes into limp mode (when off the highway). the trans temp actually came on last time. after the car cooled for 20 minutes it was fine. I do no think there is any shutter. it had a new tc put on about 60k miles ago under recall.

also, this has only happend after i cleaned the map sensor, which was pretty crudded up.

again, engine in limp mode...but i was revving up pretty high, which may have caused the trans temp to turn on. about 90 out...

any ideas...mr. mopar??

When the transmission overheats it's programmed to not use overdrive

Was your transmission cooler replaced at the time of the torque converter replacement?
Maybe your cooler is plugged with crud and letting your tranny overheat.

i'm not sure what is going on. it's almost as if sometimes, the car drives like the engine is clogged up or missing, then thats when it goes into limp mode. when this happens and i open the hood i hear what sounds like a something (vacuum line) turning off...

i wonder if the MAP sensor is causing this problem. maybe it's bad...almost as if the boost is going on and off.

transmission cooler was not replaced. best way to explain, when you press hard on the gas, the car feels like its carbed up and when i slow down off the highway, it goes into limp mode. thats when the trans temp light came on.

OK, then start off changing your fuel filter. Whenever it's running crappy or has no power, that's the first thing you go to.
