A friend of mine is trying to buy a used CRD in the midwest. He's had 6 of them sold out from under him in a day or two. Are used ones that hot now? **edit** butterfinger typing corrected |

There seems to be a pretty fast turn around time on many of the low milage 05's listed as of late. |

I'm in WI few around here but most of the guys that want them want them for next to nothing. Had a guy offer to buy mine from Milwaukee but when I told him what I would take for it he got all pissy. $14,500 would pay it off. |

$14500 seems cheap for that kind of hood ornament... |

Cheap till the wife found out. Not really looking to sell, but if someone wanted it, I would take the payoff. and that link the guy is looking to sell unless I read it wrong. |

I had someone offer to buy mine at close to payoff but with what I put in and all, its now a reliable little truck with more work to come. Diesels should last over 300k so I'll be driving a rotted out frame in 20 years but by then I'll have it paid off. |

I'm not upside down on mine, but even if someone offered me the book value... I wouldn't have enough to turn around and replace it with anything decent that can do the same jobs. |

I had a dealership call me today and offered to buy my CRD from me. They wanted to give me an extra $6800 toward a new car on their lot too. Has anyone else had this? I may have had nothing to do with the CRD. They may just want me to come in and move a car off of their lot. |

I Would not trade my CRD even if they gave me a new car. |

I am un aware of any other vehicle offered in the us that could replace a crd liberty? A gasser is ok if you want 15 mpg and lackluster towing, i guess. Capable off roading, excellent handling, good towing, excellent power, maneuverable. Not to big, or to small. And plenty of stuff to tinker with if you want to. Crd liberty. It does what it does, extremely well, and is impossible to replace. Maby you dont need a crd, maby you need a sedan, or a 2500, I dont know. |

Big Montana I had just the opposite happen to me last week. I usually upgrade every 3 years the dealer I bough mine from told me there was no market for the CRD and they aren't interested in taking it on trade. I asked if he was kidding and reminded him that we had bought 2 new vehicles and 1 used vehicle from him over the last 8 years including the CRD. My sales guy told me to sell it and come back I told him he evidently didn't need our business anymore and walked out. |

I just got my CRD a few months ago there were not that many around to choose from. If I had not come to a deal on the one I got and love I would have been traveling far as NJ to look at a few. I think I got a fair deal for what I got mine was pretty well loaded, I'm only missing 2 options I can think of (bluetooth and intigtated sirius) I was not going to by it cus it had too many toys and was priced up a little more, but when I looked at others there were things I didn't like and options I wanted missing. in the end it would have cost as much to add them as buying mine. and the dealer realy worked to make the sale and came down some. I don't think I am upsidedown I paid under Kelly and NADA retail. got more than the book value on my trade and had an ok down payment. I would not sell my Jeep! I hope to be still driving it in 8 to 10 years. nothing I have ever had is this nice and can do what it can do. right after I got it I had some regrets for spending a little more than I planed at first, now I am very happy with it and glad I did it. |

I use it around town, tow a 3,000 lb travel trailer and go off road with good power & decent mileage. Hope it lasts forever. I can see adding to our 'fleet' (wife has a 97 Miata and son a 98 Cherokee) but not dropping the CRD. |

Don't get me wrong, I told her no way. I was just surprised. It may be my local dealer. I live in Michigan and we've been hit pretty hard. This was a large dealership, so they may have to move some cars fast. Either way, I told her I don't plan to get rid of it. I certainly won't be buying a new Chrysler during this transitional phase they're in. I feel like I'll be getting a car made up of all the left over parts at the warehouse. |

And the cobbled-together design of the CRD DOESN'T make you think that? Next vehicles in my life... Who knows. But I DO know that they will be all diesels... And NO MOPAR. |

You did the right thing..........what a douche*baggg ! You should write a nice friendly reminder letter to the General Manager and voice your opinion. With that attitude, I bet he couldn't sell a new car to anyone if the Cash for Clunkers program was $9,000 ! Greg |

My friend got one from Iowa and they're delivering it to Michigan. Guess you can't complain about that service... |

I think the only vehicle I would let my CRD go for would be a CRD Grand Cherokee. However, it is hard to find one that is not optioned to the gills; I don't like all the bells and whistles. More stuff to break. However, I think the Lib could do with more comfortable seats. . . |

I like the seats in the Liberty for the firmness... but NOT for getting stained by simple water drops! You want to talk about uncomfortable seats, try the Ford Escape / Mercury Mariner hybrids. My family has two of the Mercurys, WORST seats I've ever felt. I hate doing a long trip in that car. |
