WTF? The pan seems to be pot metal and I stripped out the plug hole! Is there an easy fix for this besides replacing the pan?? Very poor design. |

Lots of done this. I still have my stock bolt, but others have changed over to the fumoto drain valve. I would think you should be able to go to the local autopart store and get an oversized plug. |

It sucks. I would say tap it and get a fumoto. x2 on Fumoto, whether it requires tapping or not. Fumoto = not having to remove the plug, which then = no worries about stripping ever again. |

3X on the fumoto valve. I put one in mine on the first oil change I did after buying mine used. Got it from the same guy Linewarblr posted. When I got under there and saw what the bolt/plug looked like and that the pan was aluminum like the one in my old Honda Prelude, that Jiffy Lube stripped out in a Jiffy. I was glad I invested in it. Jiffy kube never would cover the cost to repair my Prelude I had to get a pan from the boneyard and have it installed on my nickel, so stay away from thre with CRD's. BTW if you get the one with out the nipple it does not hang lower than the stock skid plate, mine didn't |

Just for info: Anyone considering the Fumoto drain should make sure the existing plug threads are stock (not been re-threaded) before ordering. The removed drain plug should be a 3/8 inch British standard parallel pipe thread. That would be 19 threads per inch and an outer diameter of 0.656 inches. |

looks close to the fumoto. as long as it is not lower than the stock skid and can't be opened in anway unlesss its intended it should work out well for you. |

Its protected by the skid - does not hang down lower - and you have to push up and twist to lock it open. It has a pretty firm spring in it. 11 bucks. Now i'm going to put one on the F-350 and also my tractor... |

same as fumoto then. fumoto has a lever you have to push back and then twist around to open the valve. that's a good find man |
