Where is it? I need to change it now at 50k miles. Also the manual says to "inspect the water/fuel seperator unit" is this just the filter? I noticed the filter has a wire on the bottom of it so this isn't your ordinary filter? |

I don't know what the boost seliniod filter is but let me know if you find out. the fuel water seprator is the fuel filter. it has a water in fuel sensor. when I changed mine I just got the filter at napa. it comes with a plastic seprator valve you just take that off and install your WIF sensor from your filter on the new filter. the istrustions are in the CRD tech section for the fuel filter. |

IIRC the boost solenoid filter is a little filter located right behind hte air box... |

Thanks. Yeah the maintenance book says to "inspect the boost solenoid filter and replace if needed"...and then i couldn't find anything in the book to tell me where it is or what it looks like. |

Yeah i saw that filter....actually my 11 year old found it for me when we were looking...and i suspected that might be it but wasn't sure. Are you sure? |

The boost solenoid filter is a small filter attached to the turbo vacuum unit near the passenger (starboard) fender directly behind the airbox. It is about 2.5" long by 1.5" wide, and looks like a small gas engine's inline fuel filter; it is encased in clear plastic. You cannot buy it at Auto Zone or anything like that; it is a dealer part. (and they would have to order it) I ordered some from Mopar Parts America, they have them listed for $7.94 each. They are very easy to change out. I changed mine just to do it at about 46k miles. It seems a small price to pay, considering that it filters the air drawn into the vacuum manager that controls the pitch of the turbo vanesYou don't need dirt in the engine, and you definitely don't need dirt in there. |

Ok...on mine it only filters the pressure relieve for the EGR valve / heater control valve. But since it's not a huge amount of air that flows through it, blowing out would be my first idea. $8...that's a six-pack

If you go to the dealer to get your fuel filter. Make sure they don't charge you $115. They will try to sell you the whole assembly. The filter should be around $30-$45. I also find it easier to change the filter by unbolting the whole assembly from the fire wall. It's only two nuts. That way you can lift it out and unplug the water sensor wire without twisting it. |

My fuel filter is a spin on with water sersor in the bottom. its bolted to the firewall with 2 bolts same as the 2005. maybe he is talking about the boost selinoid filter |
