I'm new to the forum and to the CRD liberty I just picked up for my wife. I noticed I had some drips on the driveway from it so I decided to check it out while I had it on the lift changing the oil. It appears to be leaking from the oil return line from the turbo.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips on where to get the replacement return line? If I can't find a replacement part then I will be tearing it apart and coming up with a home made fix for it.

Also, are there any other tips for a new CRD owner? I'm not new to diesels, just to the jeep version, lol.

What are most of you doing for intake and exhausts? I can't seem to find any parts that are diesel specific.

And what is the simplest way to go about blocking the EGR without setting any codes?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I'm not sure but I seem recall it just being loose in a copple of cases but get it fixed before really bad things happen. Moparts on line if that's the name has Chrysler parts at good prices. You may want to check out one of GDE's tune for the EGR and a better running machine and muchly improved fuel mileage. Look into a Provent. Some have eliminated the 55 gallon drum muffler along with the restriction where it connectes to the cat and noticed a difference. The air filter is from a gasoline KJ and needs changed at every oil change. Adding a an intank lift pump for a dodge/cummins keeps air out of the fuel and most of the wiring, fuse relay and control circuit are already there. The OEEM torque converter is sub par for the engine so Chrysler neutered our engines. GDE has two tunes that gets it back but for the "hot" one you need a improved torque converter. There is already one available for our CRD's from Chrysler and are around $250 online. Clean youe MAP sensor (manifold absolute Sensor)

There's lots of posts here on these subjects.

Don't leave the copper washer off the oil drain plug or you'll strip the oil pan  Most here have the Fomoto drain valve.
