Post subject:  Factory GPS Problem

Had not used the GPS for a few weeks. Went to use it and after completing programming, the "voice" simply says one word, "destination", a map appears on the screen and it does nothing else. Previously, when it was working properly, the voice would say, "Proceed to the highlighted route" and then give turn by turn instructions.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Never saw that unit except in a catalog, but it the map a map of you location, or a generic map? If it is your actual location, the GPS is working, but the radio unit must be broke.

is it the RB1 radio?

I have that unit in mine, I have never had any issue with it to date other than some destinations are not in turn by turn area due to the map not being verified. then the unit shows you the map and where it thinks you should go but you have to find it on your own with the map from where turn by turn ends.

THe system is DVD based so it is possable if you have taken out your disc and handled it often that it could be scratched or soiled with finger prints and who knows what that may cause it to do.

If you types in the address where you were presently located then it would only say destination. Otherwise somehow it thought you arrived at your intended desination.
