Had them both. Latitudes are better than Icons IMHO!

I had the Bosch Latitude on my Outback I liked them verry much, one of the best sets of wipers I have tried. I wanted to put them on the Jeep after I got it but Advance Auto parts and Auto Zone didn't have the correct size in stock. I got Trico Aeroform which is a similar product to the Bosch. So far I like them almost as much. The only issue I have had with them was icing up on saturday drivng in that snowstorm. any wiper that isn't heated would do the same I'm sure. Intresting thing I noticed that there is one thing the Outback had that the Jeep doesn't. I had a heated area on the windshield where the wipers parked that helped keep them from icing as much.

I've used the Latitudes and the new Michelin version of the Latitudes. I like the Michelin version just as well and they are about $1.50 cheaper. I've never used the Bosch ones, though.

My fault you are correct. Bosch Makes THe ICON, that is what I had on the Subaru. They were very good, nearly identical to the Rain-X Latitude and sold next to each other on the rack.

I can't recall the exact make, but I have a set of Lifetime Warranty blades from Wally-World... And get this: Made in the USA!

I'll take something USA-made any day, over another product. Price doesn't matter to me, but the price for these was very competitive IIRC. Not the most expensive, and not the cheapest.

Performance while driving in a blizzard (hmm, last week in VA) was excellent, no problem sweeping the snow off to the sides.

You found something made in America at Walley-World besides an underpaid and overworked employee? :pepper:

Surprisingly enough, I've found quite a handful of USA-made products at Wally-World recently. I wouldn't suggest the steel shelving with MDF shelves that sell for $30 or so... Those may be made in the USA, but they are the WORST quality I have ever seen. Two sets of them COLLAPSED on me, with far less than their rated capacity on the shelves. The steel rails just buckled and dumped my boxes all over my trailer.

Granted I was asking these shelves to support some boxes in a trailer while I was pulling it down the highway... But I DID strap the shelves to the wall at two points, without denting or compromising the steel. They just weren't sturdy enough.

I'd recommend getting a 300 lb shelf for 100 lbs of load if attaching it to your trailer. Maybe more depending how it is built. I'm sure shelving has a safety factor based on a static load, where on your trailer you've got dynamic load which you should overrate your shelf by 2-3x for bouncing. You can easily see 2G on the shelves. You've also got a cyclic load due to repetitive bumps loading and unloading the shelves. You may also have some flex in the walls of the trailer, which could make members of the shelf twist into a poor loading condition.

Your either a mechanical engineer or a civil engineer.

CE's don't have to worry about things moving - except for the occasional earthquake

Have you heard the joke about engineers?

Mechanical engineers build weapons. Civil engineers build targets. :-)r

I know what you are talking about with dynamic loading, I'm a trained stage and arena rigger for the entertainment industry. The shelving wasn't loaded that badly above the bottom shelf (which had two boxes of solid BOOKS on it) but each shelf was supposedly rated to like 80lbs IIRC. I was using the Home Depot mid-size cardboards that had about 12 lbs or so in each one. The stuff was more bulky than heavy. The shock loading should have been within the stress level of the shelving, but the steel on these things wasn't much more than about 22/24 gauge. Really thin. It's strength (such as it was) came from being designed to be loaded on-edge by the MDF shelf surface. Any twisting of the structure would have (and probably did) compromise the vertical L-shaped legs of the structure. Twisting shear forces are a bugger. The interior walls of my trailer are removed so that I can strap directly to the vertical wall supports, but obviously in this case the straps didn't help matters.

I will be replacing these shelves in the future with some nice rolling mesh racks or similar... Rated to 2k lbs. I already know those will be just fine, as I drove 3 of them to a storage facility while shrink-wrapped and fully loaded... And they were perfect. The downside: They are $80 each at Costco.

Had to put Rain-X on the KJ when the windshield was replaced in Orlando while on vacation. I want my Icons back ASAP.

Rain-X the locking mech on the arm is not secure
The wipers are not stable at speed-80+

I want my Icons back.

Ha!!! I don't drive that fast anymore. I do like the Icon's for that but mine never did that well on the windshield compared to the Latitudes. SLOW DOWN! NO AUTOBAHNN'S HERE!!!!! ;-)
