Ok CRD lovers got another request for help/information.

My 06 crd has been starting crazy hard the last couple days. Needed new battery so I changed that. Thought that would cure the issue but didn't so I changed my fuel filter since I hadn't changed that for about 30K miles. Took it to the stealership to read the codes and there it was a P0671 and P0674 Cyl 1 and 4 glow plug circuit. Since it was Saturday they couldn't trouble shoot any further. Taking it in Monday so they can finish the job. They didn't have the glow plugs in stock so I picked up 2 from another dealership.

Has anyone else had these codes? Is it bad glow plugs or something with the wiring?

It probably is a glow plug - but may not really be 1 & 4 - some of the codes don't go to the right cylinder. it's an easy check though, trace a glow plug wire up to the 4:1 connector - pull the connector check all 4 plugs to ground - good will be around 1 ohm the bad will be about 100 ohms.

trace the bad ones back to the plug - pull the cap off and recheck the resistance - if you got the right plug it'll now be open. I think you can get to 1,2 4 without too much problem - 3 you have to pull an intake piece or so.
