Today, I discovered that the front antisway bar bushings are worn /deformed. It is the reason why the vehicle felt like it was floating away while in a turn. Can anyone recommend a superior replacement front antisway bar bushing that will perform well on the Liberty? |

When you find them, you let us know? You might try in the kj 2x4 forums. Energy suspension wanted to make all bushings for us, i and at least one other person volunteered to loan them our liberties but so far nothing has come of it. |

Why is it so difficult to find a bushing? |

Daystar poly ~$27 http://www.boulderbars.com/kjproducts.htm and while you're at it you can add the grease zerks http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12494 |

I don't know how i overlook those. I think i've actually seen them in person at allj's. What i don't get is why the poly bushings need zerks, i thought the entire point of using them was because they don't make noise or get all crappy. if i have to grease them up all the time it's no different than the boat i'm paddling now. Except you could actually use grease instead of silicone? |

My first 30k, i had no problems, now when they are dry (no lube, displaced by water, whatever) and get a little chilly, they make a little bit of a groaning/creak noise when i hit inclined ramps, such as those in a multi level parking garage, and they feel different, like the action is not smooth. Throw some silicone lube on there and all is well. It seems to have a bit of a impact on handling as well. A good example; I lubed them up a few weeks ago before we went to big bear (the day before we headed up), we stayed a few days and hit the trails (snow mud water ice etc etc), by the time i got home they were horrible again, 3 days of commuting later they were galled up a bit, i rubbed em up and lubed them, all is well. (it kinda looked like lines of rubber like when you use a pencil eraser, not a ton of material but some) I'll probably order some new ones one of these days and see how they do. I've been using Gunk, liquid wrench heavy duty spray silicone lube from wallmart, it was handy. Hopefully you will continue to not have this problem, which seems likely considering your sfa ![]() |
