A week ago or so, the transmission decided not to switch gears anymore, after inspecting the transmission shifter cable lever that attaches to the splinted shaft on the transmission, became loose and falls off...

so each time the truck looses gear shifting abilities i crawl under it and re attach the bracket to the shaft in the transmission... and works again for some time till it becomes disconnected.

is there an cir clip or something that keeps the lever attached to the transmission itself ?

Thanks !

If your just able to push it on after it falls off you have a problem, there is a bolt with a square nut on the end(so it doesn't spin) that holds it in place, sounds like your missing this bolt!

For the exact part yes, though I don't see why any old bolt about the right size wouldn't work. Might try a generic bolt while you wait for the dealer part to arrive.

This seems pretty dangerous man, be careful! Driving it like that seems like a bad way to get hurt and possibly injure others.
