For years I have used heavier battery cables than OEM. I am planning to go to 00 gauge cables so all the power in the Optima 34R goes to the starter that it needs. If any one knows, I won't have to wait until I get home to measure. |

I don't know the size, but I've always thought they were kinda puny. My diesel Nissans are the same displacement as the CRD and have cables that are twice as thick. I will follow your progress with interest... |

81, 82, and 83 Maximas were available with a 2.8 liter in line six diesel - the LD28. I guess you could say they are a hobby of mine. |
