 Post subject: What size are our CRD Battery Cables????

For years I have used heavier battery cables than OEM. I am planning to go to 00 gauge cables so all the power in the Optima 34R goes to the starter that it needs. If any one knows, I won't have to wait until I get home to measure.

I don't know the size, but I've always thought they were kinda puny. My diesel Nissans are the same displacement as the CRD and have cables that are twice as thick. I will follow your progress with interest...

05 Limited CRD. Bought it new. 112k on the clock now.

GDE Eco-tune, rear differential drain plug (drilled and tapped the pumpkin), transmission pan drain plug, Fumoto oil valve, fuel filler neck restriction removed, front hitch, Hayden fan clutch, Sears P1 battery since 08, Mobil 1 5w40, 5 volt glow plugs, DIY timing belt at 109k

81, 82, and 83 Maximas were available with a 2.8 liter in line six diesel - the LD28. I guess you could say they are a hobby of mine.
