I've been searching the FSM, appears cylinder numbering is from back to front, that is #4 cylinder is at the radiator and #1 is at the transmission. Can anyone give me a quick confirmation? |

I can't say for sure, but every engine I have ever worked on, the number one cyclinder starts at the timing belt and goes back, or to the side depending on how it is mounted. |

There have been some Glow Plug error codes where the count is back to front - it wasn't clear if that was intentional or an error. so a definite maybe or let me restate that with less confidence. It's Italian - it's not outside the realm of possibility that they intended it that way - but it would sure be weird. |

Ok, more reading and I had it all backwards Cylinder 1 is in the front, 4 is in the back. Surprisingly hard to find that info in the FSM, I guess its just expected norm on an inline engine. |
