My tranny wont shift correctly into 4th gear after a restart. The tach will increase but the jeep has no giddy up at all. If I stop and restart again it will go back to driving like normal. Everything is up to normal temp when this occurs. Things I have done: Dealer has changed out the MAF and Map sensor (Extended Warranty!) Fuel filter changed. CAT2 filter installed and everything bled correctly. Both trans filters just changed, oil refilled and verified at correct level. SEGR bypass installed, problem still occurs. Jeep is a late model 2006 CRD than did not require the f37 recall. CEL light is on. I thought in the beginning I was having an SEGR issues but not sure now. |

Was the correct fluid used when the tranny was drained refilled. Its very important to use an ATF +4, or the transmission may not shift properly, and the clutches may not lock up. Your lockup clutches could be fried. Definitely get the codes that correspond to the CEL, and see if they offer a clue. |

The correct atf+4 fluid was used. Fluid I drained out didnt smell burnt nor was there any big metal chunks in the pan besides the normal stuff I have seen before in other trannies. The magnet had alot of this gray goo on it that wiped off pretty easily. |

Sounds like air in the fuel or a plugged filter, they become very erratic, and seem like your tranny is bad because you get plenty of RPMs. Check the fuel system. My LTD did this, and a new filter Assy was the cure. |
