I will post a full review later. Got the HOT tune and the shudder is awful. My TC hates me. :) But except for the shudder...so far I like it. Will report back later with some miles on it...

You still under warranty? If so, go complain to the stealership and get yourself a European TC

Yeah, it will put out some nasty scary shudder :grim:

I put in Dr. Tranny Instant Shudder Eliminator, and have not had a problem since. Go for the warranty TC if you can, and you actually want the stealer to touch a wrench to you vehicle :frankie:

That sounds scarier then the shudder.

I wont let them touch my Jeeps.

Funny story... when I first got everything hooked back up, the Jeep wouldn't start. I thought, "OH NO...THEY'VE KILLED MY ECU!". :ROTFL: I was scared to death. Turns out that for the first time ever, I just had some air in my fuel lines. So I primed away and thankfully it fired up. Sheww...

No warranty for me. I'm at 76,000.

The shudder is real bad. So will the TC eventually die completely, or is it just that you have to live with the annoyance?

Good things I've noticed so far:
Throttle response is much better and much smoother and much more linear.
According to EVIC (debateable accuracy, I know) I am getting 5-6 MPG more now.
NO check engine light!
Ability to coast to red lights is increased.
At 32 degrees cabin heat is still warm.

Bad things I've noticed so far:
Engine is quieter.
Shudder (not GDE's fault).
Not the increase in "seat of the pants" feel that I expected.
Possible that EVIC is useless now (not confirmed yet).

The drastically increased shudder proves that there is more power. I haven't noticed increase in smoke. Overall driveability of the Jeep is increased and it's more fun behind the wheel now. If my fuel economy is truly increased, and my low fuel light still comes on at an appropriate time, I think I will be happy with the HOT tune. Torque converters are not all that expensive. :JEEPIN:

"Dr. Tranny Instant Shudder Eliminator" it is only about $10.00, "Dr. Tranny Instant Shudder Eliminator", and it works!!

The shudder will kill the TC or once again: "Dr. Tranny Instant Shudder Eliminator" It works!!

Agreed, but the damage it may do to the transmission could be if you drive it to destruction.

Liberty,

You may be able to buy a Mopar 7/100 ESP rom the online ESP seller. This will drop a $1000 plus dealer bill or the TC and install to $100. When the next big ailure occurs, you'll be really happy to have the ESP.

I would not drive it around in the torquey power bands, until you get it fixed. You can always put the metal down when it shudders for a down shift.

Yeah but how much does the ESP cost?

Do you simply add that Dr. tranny shudder fix to the trans?

That is all I had to do Joe. Hard to believe miracle in a can actually worked? Shudder is the symptom that causes the failure, you stop the shudder and prevent the failure.

I had to add two tubes and it reduced it a bit but did not get rid of it. As full throttle you will not get the shudder...it will be at speeds 50-65 or so when you are cruising and hit a hill or accelerate slowly (or towing of course). Try to limit the shudder so you don't contaminate your tranny with "bits" of material.

Check my sig for "Drag Times" with HOT TUNE...stock is about 17.2...I am lifted with slightly taller tires and some armor.
