Looking at the Skyjacker shocks...

I've always used the Hydro because they are cheaper and are valved soft. But for $5 more you can get the Nitro and I wonder if it would be worth it? Anybody used those?

I tried to run through the spec. sheets and match up a part # for some Monroe Sensa-Tracs that would work, but the ones I thought would do the trick ended up having bushings on one end that were wrong. That's a shame because the Sensa-Tracs are firm but not harsh and worked great for me on my pickup.

I think I'm going to use the Skyjackers again since they are easy to find and are priced pretty good. I have run them on at least two other Jeeps with success. I figured the Nitros would work better in the rough stuff because they wouldn't foam as bad. Is that right? The gas keeps the oil from foaming and keeps the valving from fading when hot from what I understand.

I have tried Bilsteins, and they were junk. 8) A total waste of $70 each that I could have spent on TWO shocks of another brand that work just as well.

If you think Bilstines are junk, try Monroe :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL:
Monroe is one shock I will never buy or install.

I did try Monroe. On a 5,600 lb. pickup truck. And they were the best $80 I ever spent. Not to mention the rears had coil springs built into them that helped with load leveling at the same time. I got 4 excellent shocks with lifetime warranty for the price of two over-rated Bilsteins (which I've also used before).

I guess I will try some Skyjackers. Looks like they still list a number for the KJ.
